Packers get back to work -- in the cold

Maybe someone forgot to tell Mike McCarthy that the next two games -- against Minnesota and Atlanta -- are on the road  in domes. Or maybe this was McCarthy's way of getting the players' attention after the bye. Whatever the case, the Packers were back on the practice field this  morning out in the cold. The weather app on my phone says it's 37 degrees outside right now, but there were the Packers on Clark Hinkle Field. What's more, they were in full pads for the first time in a while, perhaps a month. The only players not participating were: OLB Clay Matthews, DE Ryan Pickett and WR Donald Driver. Matthews and Pickett were not in pads but took part in the jog through before going inside the Hutson Center to work out. Driver was nowhere to be seen. TE Andrew Quarless (shoulder) returned to practice. McCarthy is scheduled to address reporters at around 1 p.m. Also, the Packers re-signed LB Robert Francois to the practice squad. -- Rob Demovsky, rdemovsk@greenbaypressgazette.com http://twitter.com/RobDemovsky
