Longwell has no doubt this is Favre's final season

Among Brett Favre's Minnesota Vikings teammates, no one probably knows him better than kicker Ryan Longwell, who spent nine years with the veteran quarterback in Green Bay. So Longwell speaks with some authority when he says he is convinced this will be Favre's last season. Favre has already stated publicly numerous times that he plans to retire for good after this season, and Longwell believes him. Longwell was one of three Vikings players that visited Favre in Mississippi in August and convinced him to play this year. Favre made it clear back then that this would be his 20th and final season, according to Longwell. "Without a doubt, when we went down to Mississippi, three of us to talk to him, that was pretty much adamant even before he agreed to come back," said Longwell during a conference call with members of the Wisconsin media. " Yeah I have no doubt that this is his last year." Despite the Vikings' 3-6 record and Favre's struggles this season -- he leads the NFL in interceptions -- Longwell said there has been no sign that the quarterback regrets his decision to play this year. "I think Brettís in a really good place," said Longwell. "With everything that has gone on and could be said about it, the one thing that to his credit that heís done, the second he said yeah heís coming when we were down in Hattiesburg, he has given it full throttle from that point on. There hasnít been any ďwhy did I come backĒ or any of that stuff. Itís been the same old Brett. Unfortunately things havenít gone our way to this point but his attitude hasnít changed and like I said, I think heís in a really good place right now."
