Dinner with the Pickett's

Packers defensive lineman Ryan Pickett is hosting a few teammates for Thanksgiving dinner today. The guest list - mostly other defensive lineman. That's going to take a lot of turkey... "We've got like a 30-pound turkey," Pickett said. "I don't know how (my wife) tied it up and got it in (the oven). ... It's supposed to be ready when I get home. "It's tough, especially for us big guys. We love Thanksgiving. We love eat. You've got to eat, but you can't go overboard because we've got a game Sunday. So, we've got to take it easy for a while." Pickett said he and his wife have hosted Thanksgiving for eight years now. Coach Mike McCarthy scheduled the week to make sure everyone, coaches and trainers included, were out of the building by 1:30 p.m. so they could enjoy the holiday. "Everybody made adjustments, but Iíve also," McCarthy said. "I know how it feels to be the young coach, or the quality control coach that has to do more than the other guys, and if you would take that opportunity to go and have a real Thanksgiving like maybe some of the other people on that staff did, you would get further behind, so youíd be the one in your office. Thatís something Iím very cognizant of. Iíve done all those jobs. I know what itís like to come up the ladder the right way. "Thatís why we addressed it as a staff last week, and even with the trainers. I know certain players need more treatment than others, but itís not fair for our trainers to be here too. Everybody in football operations will be out of the building by 1:30." "I think it says a lot about our football team. Itís a conversation Iíve had with Matt Klein and Rob Davis and a couple others. Everybody has somewhere to go. Some players are going to a couple different places. Everybodyís opened up their door. You canít just be a family at work. It is Thanksgiving. We all are very blessed. Weíve acknowledged that, and we make sure everybody has a place to go today." Injury report: DE Cullen Jenkins (calf), LB Clay Matthews (shin), DE Ryan Pickett (ankle), C Scott Wells (arch) and CB Charles Woodson (toe) were all limited Thursday. S Atari Bigby (hamstring) was out for the second straight day and S Anthony Smith (ankle) did not participate for the second day in a row. T Chad Clifton and WR Donald Driver were full participants.
