Second-quarter summary: Falcons 10, Packers 3

The Packers are no doubting kicking themselves at halftime for blowing a golden second-quarter scoring opportunity. They set themselves up with a first and goal at the Falcons' 2 but somehow came away with no points. Here's what happened: On first and goal Aaron Rodgers passed incomplete for either Quinn Johnson or Andrew Quarless. On second and goal a Rodgers sneak netted 1 yard. On third and goal Rodgers tried another sneak but fumbled into the end zone -- forced by Curtis Lofton -- and the Falcons recovered. Then Atlanta went on a 14-play, 80-yard touchdown drive culminating with a Matt Ryan 5-yard TD pass to a wide open Tony Gonzalez with 8 seconds remaining. The Falcons kept the scoring drive alive despite facing a third and 19 from their own 48. Ryan passed 16 yards to Ovie Mughelli to set up fourth and 3 from the Packers' 36, when a  scrambling Ryan, who evaded Clay Matthews, found Gonzaelez on a 6-yard strike. The Packers have been hampered by poor field position, starting their first three drives from their own 11, 15 and 15. No Packers running back carried the ball in the second quarter. Rodgers leads the Packers in rushing with 24 yards rushing in seven carries, including a kneeldown to end the half. Gonzalez caught four passes for 36 yards on the Falcons' touchdown drive. Michael Turner rushed for 24 yards on seven carries. That brings his unofficial halftime total to 55 yards on 13 carries. Brandon Jackson has 5 yards on four carries. The first half was very fast, taking less than 75 minutes to complete.
