The agent for Tramon Williams confirmed that his client signed a contract extension with the Green Bay Packers through the 2014 season. A source with access to NFL Players Association contract information said the deal was dated Nov. 26, which was last Friday, although Williams' agent, Rodney Williams, said the deal wasn't finalized until last night. "He was excited," Rodney Williams said of his client. "He's in a spot where he always wanted to stay. He wanted to be right there in Green Bay, and it definitely works for him. It was a great compromise for all parties involved in light of the current CBA situation." Williams wouldn't disclose the contract numbers, but the source said that Tramon Williams received a $6 million signing bonus and his base salary was bumped up to nearly $14.4 million this season. Of that total, Tramon Williams will receive slightly more than $5 million this season. That's the prorated portion of the base for the final six weeks of the season. The deal also contains a roster bonus of $2.2 million in 2011 and $2.5 million in 2012. The average over the first three years of the deal is $8.25 million per season. Williams' base salaries for the following seasons will be: $1 million in 2011, $2.3 million in 2012, $5.9 million in 2013 and $6.9 million in 2014, the source said. -- Rob Demovsky, rdemovsk@greenbaypressgazette.com http://twitter.com/RobDemovsky
