Clifton suffers concussion; Woodson sprains ankle

A pair of veterans were added to the injury report on Wednesday. Tackle Chad Clifton suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game against the 49ers, while cornerback Charles Woodson sprained his ankle in practice today, according to coach Mike McCarthy. Clifton gave no indication on Sunday that he had a concussion, said McCarthy, but showed symptoms the next day. Thus he is going through the normal procedure and protocol required by the NFL when it comes to concussions before he can be cleared to play. Clifton's knees are also bothering him, according to McCarthy, although that is not out of the ordinary. McCarthy said he didn’t have the full report on Woodson and wouldn’t know about his availability until later. McCarthy also said the following during his presser today:  *There has been no dip in energy from the Packers. In fact, this is the time of year players live for and if anything, the team energy is improving. *The Packers must face Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, who McCarthy calls extremely athletic and a big target in the red zone. He will be a big challenge, said McCarthy. *The Packers spend extra time against division opponents during the off-season and training camp. It is no different with the Lions. All division games are extremely important and McCarthy said the Packers are going after this one and will need to play at their best to win. *The Packers will continue to stress fundamentals, and today at practice specifically worked on some problems from Sunday like having to burn timeouts on offense, and field goal protection. *C.J. Wilson might have a slight edge over Jarius Wynn at defensive end because he’s been on the active roster in recent weeks, but Wynn has been practicing well. *The Packers practice participation report: Bigby did not participate (DNP).  Clifton limited. Collins limited. Driver full. Hall out. Jenkins out. Pat Lee DNP. Matthews limited. Pickett limited. Anthony Smith DNP. Swain full.  Woodson limited.
