First-quarter summary: Patriots 7, Packers 3

The Packers opened the game with a bit of trickery with an onside kick that was recovered by Nick Collins. The Matt Flynn-led offense then drove 40 yards in 11 plays for a field goal with 8:45 remaining in the first quarter and 3-0 lead. Charles Woodson dropped an interception that Tom Brady threw right into his hands on a pass intended for Rob Gronkowski. Two plays later, BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran 33 yards for a touchdown and 7-3 Patriots lead with 6:19 remaining in the quarter. The Patriot srushed six times for 59 yards in the first quarter. Matt Flynn was 4 for 6 for 25 yards.
