On the first play of the second quarter Matt Flynn connected with James Jones on a 66-yard touchdown pass to give the Packers a 10-7 lead.  The Packers defense then forced two consecutive punts by the Pats, and Flynn led the team on a 14-play, 82-yard touchdown march. Flynn connected with Greg Jennings on a 1-yard scoring toss to put the Packers ahead 17-7 with 2:17 left in the half. Once again the Packers' kickoff team suffered a major meltdown. Mason Crosby's short kick was fielded by 313-pound offensive lineman Dan Connolly, who did his best Gale Sayers impersonation and rumbled 71 yards over, around and through the Packers to the 4-yard line. Three plays later Tom Brady, given way too much time, hit Aaron Hernandez on a 2-yard TD pass as the Patriots pulled within 17-14 at halftime. The Packers lead in first downs (11 to 7), total yards (180 to 138) and time of possession (17:40 to 12:20). Flynn completed 11 of 18 passes for 143 yards with a 123.1 passer rating. Tom Brady was 10 of 15 for 81 yards and a 102.4 passer rating. The Patriots rushed 8 times for 74 yards; the Packers rushed 15 times for 50 yards.
