Friday practice report: Jenkins, Zombo out again

When he re-injured his calf against San Francisco on Dec. 5, the Packers were hoping Cullen Jenkins could return for the season finale against the Bears. That looks highly unlikely. At practice today, Jenkins took a few snaps in the jog through period but they were only on the defensive look team. It's likely the Packers will list him as a "did not participate" in practice today. Safety Atari Bigby (groin), fullback Korey Hall (knee) and linebacker Frank Zombo (knee) also did not practice. Linebacker Diyral Briggs (ankle) appeared to be limited. We'll have the full injury report and comments from coach Mike McCarthy when practice ends at around 12:30 p.m. UPDATE (12:30 p.m.): Here's the full injury report. G Marshall Newhouse (back) was placed on injured reserve and C-G Evan Dietrich-Smith was re-signed. Briggs was added with an ankle, was limted and is probable Atari Bigby, S Groin Out Chad Clifton, T Knees Limited Participation Probable Nick Collins, S Ribs Limited Participation Probable Korey Hall, FB Knee Out Cullen Jenkins, DE Calf Did Not Participate Out Clay Matthews, LB Shin Limited Participation Probable Ryan Pickett, DE Ankle Limited Participation Probable Sam Shields, CB Knee Full Participation Probable Erik Walden, LB Quadricep Full Participation Probable Scott Wells, C Back Full Participation Probable Charles Woodson, CB Toe Full Participation Probable Frank Zombo, LB Knee Did Not Participate Out MM on: Jenkins: "Cullen's been testing and rehabbing all week and isn't ready to go, Fr'ank is in the same category." Did Jenkins and Zombo progress enough to play in the playoffs: "When the doctors will tell me they'll be back in seven days, I'll be glad to walk back in here and tell you that but that has not been conveyed to me." on Shields: "Moved well, anticipate him playing in the nickel and do the kick returns." what would you do if you were the Bears: "That's something you should ask Lovie. I was in that position in '07. ... I'm not worried about what spot they're in." Easy calls for you in '07 and last year in Arizona: "Every team is different, the way coaches value different variables is different. The pulse, health of your team, you have to look at those and make the best decision for your team." worry about your players letting up: "That's a polluted mindset." -- Rob Demovsky, rdemovsk@greenbaypressgazette.com http://twitter.com/RobDemovsky
