Romo's contract unlikely to impact Rodgers' negotiation

Mar. 29, 2013

Itís unlikely to impact the negotiations between the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but another quarterback did a blockbuster deal today.

The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo agreed to an extension that reportedly is worth $108 million over six years.

Interesting was that, according to ESPN.com (http://es.pn/110FVdN), Romo got more guaranteed money than Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco received when he signed his six year, $120.6 million deal earlier this month. Romo reportedly was guaranteed $55 million, or $3 million more than Flacco.

Rodgers' deal, as we wrote about yesterday (http://pck.rs/173nkR5), was expected to surpass Flaccoís contract and now will also almost certainly be bigger than Romo's.

It's unknown when Rodgers' contract will be completed, but it's expected to happen soon.
