Negotiations with both quarterback Aaron Rodgers and outside linebacker Clay Matthews have reached the advanced stages, but at this point the Green Bay Packers are closer to a deal with Matthews.

A source familiar with the negotiations told the Press-Gazette on Wednesday that talks were further along on a deal with their four-time Pro Bowl defensive standout.

Earlier on Wednesday, ESPN.com reported that Matthews' new deal is expected to pay him more than $13 million per season. ...
