No Taylor for Packers
Jason Taylor is leaving Miami after all, but not for Green Bay.
The Washington Redskins on Sunday night agreed to a deal to acquire the standout pass rusher/budding thespian from the Dolphins for a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-rounder in 2010. The Redskins, the first team in the NFL to hold a full-squad training camp practice, today lost two defensive ends -- including 13-year veteran Phillip Daniels -- for the season with injuries.
Rob Demovsky reported one month ago today that the Packers had inquired about Taylor's availability. It's unlikely Packers General Manager Ted Thompson, who holds draft picks in high value, would have agreed to anything close to this price for a player who has indicated he might play only one more season.
