End of 1: Packers 7, Bears 0

SCORING PLAYS
PACKERS -- Greg Jennings, 3 yd pass from Aaron Rodgers (Mason Crosby kick is good), 02:30. Drive: 8 plays, 73 yards in 4:40.

INJURY UPDATE
* LT Chad Clifton left the game after the first play. Trainers are working on him. Josh Sitton is on at right guard, with Jason Spitz moving to left guard and Daryn Colledge to left tackle. UPDATE: It's a finger injury. His return is probable. UPDATE, 7:08: Clifton's back in.

NOTES AND ANALYSIS
* Credit Spitz with a big front-side block on Ryan Grant's early 33-yard run off a draw play -- and a false start that backed up the Packers on third down. That and a holding penalty on WR Donald Driver gives the Packers two penalties in the first 4 minutes. Not what coach Mike McCarthy wants to see.

* P Derrick Frost has taken his lumps, and rightfully so, but his 30-yard boot that stuck the Bears at their own 10 was a beauty.

* Through one drive, it's so far, so good for the Packers' new-look linebacker corps. A.J. Hawk had three solo tackles on the Bears' opening possession, which netted 22 yards and ended in a punt.

* The Bears are mixing single-high safety with their base Cover-2 defense. The Packers are having little trouble throwing at either look, thanks in part to the soft coverage by the cornerbacks. Look no further than the touchdown to Jennings, who didn't exactly have to run the best slant route of his career to beat nickel CB Corey Graham. Rodgers is off to a 7-of-7 start.

* The Packers' kickoff unit showed a new look they've worked on in practice for weeks, running down out of a bunch formation instead of the usual in-line set. Devin Hester gained 27 yards to the Packers' 32.

PREGAME
* Game-time temperature is 33 degrees. Why's that significant? Well, all those Brett Favre-in-the-cold numbers were based on a game-time temperature of 34 or below. So, by the same standard, this is Aaron Rodgers' first "cold weather" game as a starter.

* The Packers' captains are Donald Driver, Aaron Kampman and Will Blackmon. The Packers won the toss and elected to receive.
