Harrell hurts knee, questionable
Defensive tackle Justin Harrell didn't practice Friday after sustaining a sprained knee Thursday, but coach Mike McCarthy said Harrell still has a decent chance of playing Sunday in the Packers' game against the Chicago Bears.
Harrell already missed almost the entire offseason through the first six games this year while recovering from two surgeries on his lower back. McCarthy listed Harrell as questionable (50 percent chance of playing) on the team's official injury report. He did rehabilitation work on his knee Friday while the team practiced.
"Based on the conversation this morning, I'm leaning more towards that he would play," McCarthy said. "But we'll see how everything went."
Of the Packers' other injuries, only two players are in jeopardy of not playing this week: defensive end Jeremy Thompson (groin) is doubtul (25 percent chance of playing), and cornerback Jarrett Bush (ankle) is questionable.

Don't hate TT, just think he made a rather poor first round selection when he got Harrell. He (Harrell) may not be a bust, but so far he's doing a good impression of one.

Hurt feelings would put this guy on IR. What's he made of, glass?

Can't say if the guy is good or not, he's been hurt for damn near 2 years. Total joke. Talk about a NON impact player.

Cut our losses: reach an injury settlement and cut him. Enough is enough.

Not even a game-related injury. Man, this guy just seems so not worth the cash.

I'm not a 'hater' - but I am SO OVER this Justin Harrell. The guy just cannot stay healthy and is turning out to be a poor draft choice. This is the time and the season we really need him to play and to prove himself by playing well.

It's time to cut bait on this fish, which only seems good for flopping around and gasping for air.
Too bad there's no SURE way of predicting how injury-prone a draft pick will be. If so, we can bet the team wouldn't have picked such a brittle player.
Except, of course, for the mindless TT bashers out there ...
And, c'mon, you ALL can't be "Anonymous".

This was the main reason TT was boo'd for making this pick. The injury history, he could not get on the field before the draft, what would make anyone think he could do it as a pro.
TT 29-28. Remind me again why he is a great GM?

Agree, there's no sure way to predict how injury-prone a draft pick will be. That being said, drafting an injured player as number 1 pick may not be a great idea. Healthy picks have a difficult enough time making an impact. Unfortunately Harrell has only made an impact by making headlines concerning his injuries. Yup, he's injury prone. time to cut the loss...

He's better than Tony Mandarich, John Michels, Antwan Edwards, Jamal Reynolds, and Ahmad Carroll to name a few.
TT might have missed on the guy. We should know for sure next year.

Mandarich, Michels, Edwards, Reynold, and Carroll at least practiced and played in a few games. This guy can't even get through a week of work. Shouldn't be surprising because of his track record at UT. Very predictable. Of course we can't criticize TT for selecting him. TT knows so much more than everyone else in the NFL.

I hate Ted Thompson and Justin Harrell is a bust. There, I said it. Sorry, but facts are facts.

why do they even both with these stories...it would be far more newsworthy if he was actually 100% healthy good to go....

"TT 29-28. Remind me again why he is a great GM?"
You can't necessarily put that record on him since he INHERITED a lot of those players who earned losses. He has done a good job rebuilding and freeing cap space. We will see how everything turns out from now until the 2010 season before I become too harsh a critic. As of now I am neutral on TT, as I believe he has made both good and bad moves. Plus, if you look at the rest of the NFL, neutral should qualify as an above-average rating.
And Ted if you read these....PLEASE protect your investment in Rodgers and build a solid offensive line!

How can you not be a hater on this guy? He's not producing what-so-ever. The medical staff should quit wasting their time and remember that this was the "ice-wrap" on him coming out of college. He was hurt then......

If there ever was a "Baby Huey" in the history of the Green Bay Packers, then Justin Harrell is him! Another tremendously over rated player held in extremely high regard by GM Ted Thompson! Another wasted draft pick! Thanks again, Ted!

Justin Harrell is just another fart bubble in the genius of Ted Thompson!

Where are all the real Packer fans?
This team sucks. We are 4-5 and we are talking about Justin Harrell
who is not playing. All those fans that thought it was OK what the three idiots did to this team, should see now its not WORKING.!! We should demand that they are accountable for this mess.
Mike Vanderduuche is a joke. He trys to make it like everything is going to be alright.Says Jones ready to make a difference..We got an offense line that can't stop anything,a defense that is bad against the run,a QB who MM and TT
thinks he is doing great, but does not know how to win. PENALTIES and more PENALTIES, no for Christ's sake leadership. We talk about Harrell being over rated, this whole God Damm team and brass is over rated.Pack fans don't take this BS no longer. After watching Favre play this year we made a big blunder and the BRASS MUST paY FOR
WHAT THEY FED US.MM is calling the game lik a Chess match, let them play its a game.Packer Fans we are big trouble for a long long time ...ITS A SHAME

Where are all the real Packer fans? Out celebrating the fact that the team is tied for first in the division after their Packers took it to the Chicago Bears today!!
Can you see you were way premature in writing this team off for dead? In trouble for a long time? HAHAHA!
You should take less joy in the Packers losses, and more joy in their wins!!

Come down off your high! A three way tie at 5-5 is nothing to be proud of!
You still have 6 weeks left in the season and a lot of football still to play!
This team is too inconsistent to be a real threat deep in the playoffs!
