From the locker room: Lots of guys hurting
It's that time of year in NFL when players -- even those not listed on the injury report -- are banged up.
Remember when receiver James Jones dislocated his finger in last Friday's practice? Well, Jones now has two torn ligaments in that right ring finger.
"Whether I tore ligaments or not, I'm fine. I'm playing. I can catch," Jones said. "It's all right."
Jones practiced with a pad on his right hand.
Safety Nick Collins had some tape on his right calf after pulling the muscle in third quarter of Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh.
Collins said he thought he got kicked in the back of the leg but then turned around only to see that there was no one behind him. Anyone who's ever pulled a calf muscle knows what that's like.
"We're just trying to make sure everything is OK and make sure I'll able to go out and help this team," Collins said.
Perhaps the biggest concern is the recurring hamstring injury that Ryan Pickett has been dealing with. Pickett said he experienced a setback against the Steelers.
"It got a little sore, so we're going to be a aggressive with the treatment and just rest it a little more," Pickett said.
