Packers Scrapbook: 56 years ago, the last game at old City Stadium

As the Green Bay Packers prepared to play their last game at old City Stadium on Nov. 18, 1956 - 56 years ago - there was a distinct lack of drama.

The Packers were struggling, as were their opponents, the San Francisco 49ers. The game wasn't a sellout. The weather was turning cold.

It was hard to work up enthusiasm for a game between a 2-5 team (the Packers) and a 1-6 team (the 49ers). Art Daley, who covered the Packers for the Green Bay Press-Gazette, gave it a go anyway. ...
