A Green Bay Packers defense that has lost its share of playmakers to injury this season appears to finally be on the verge of getting one back.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated on Monday that veteran defensive back Charles Woodson is probably a week away from a return to the field after suffering a broken collarbone in the Packers' 30-20 win over St. Louis on Oct. 21.

Woodson, who turned 36 in October, was playing as a safety in the Packers' 3-4 defense and switching to a slot cornerback in the team's sub-packages at the time of his injury, which has sidelined him for the expected six-week ...
