Green Bay Packers running back James Starks injured his knee in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings and could be lost for the season, ESPN Milwaukee reported Tuesday night: http://bit.ly/TBbBjy
A source told the Milwaukee radio station that the Packers are considering putting Starks on injured reserve.
Starks had a 22-yard touchdown run against the Vikings and rushed for 66 yards on 15 carries.
During the Packers’ 11-minute drive for a game-sealing field goal in the fourth quarter, Starks was hit on his right knee by Vikings cornerback Josh Robinson during a run.
Starks exited the game but returned for the Packers’ final possession and gained 9 yards on three rushes.
Starks was not listed on the post-game injury report, and coach Mike McCarthy made no mention of an injury to Starks during his Monday press conference.
Besides Starks, running backs on the Packers roster include Alex Green, John Kuhn, Johnny White and DuJuan Harris, who was recently called up from the practice squad.
