Today, they'd say he has a concussion. Forty years ago, they said simply that Scott Hunter had been knocked groggy.

That's how Jerry Tagge, who starred at Green Bay West High School in the mid-1960s, got to play quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

Tagge was summoned off the bench at Soldier Field in Chicago on Nov. 12, 1972. He played the rest of the way after Hunter was hurt while scrambling on the hard Astroturf surface. ...
