    Help needed to build boardwalks for the Ice Age Trail in Taylor County

    Wildflowers and budding trees are awakening, and so is the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. You are invited to join the Ice Age Trail Alliance May 13–18 to help build a new section of the Ice Age Trail through the Chequamegon National Forest.

    Oak ecology workshop aims to protect wildlife habitat

    'Oak Ecology in the Driftless Landscape' is a workshop being offered for all who are interested in learning to support the beneficial role of the Oak trees. The workshop on Saturday, April 26 will be held from 9 a.m. until at least noon and will be led by Armund Bartz, DNR ecologist. Co-sponsors for the event include the Valley Stewardship Network, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Kickapoo Woods Cooperative and the Lower Kickapoo Initiative.
