Starring at cornerback for the Packers for six seasons (1970-75), Ken Ellis was also an outstanding punt return specialist, leading the league in punt return average yardage in 1972, with a 15.4 yard average on fourteen returns. On Sept. 19, 1971 against the New York Giants, he returned a blocked field goal attempt 100 yards for a touchdown, (still a Packer team record). He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 1973, and was voted “All Pro” by UPI in 1972.

A fourth-round draft pick in 1970 out of Southern University, he played halfback and flanker on offense. He also led the nation in punt returns as a junior in 1968.
