The Green Bay Packers will have a full padded practice instead of a scrimmage at the 14th annual Packers Family Night at Lambeau Field on Saturday, Aug. 2.
"As the team has continually assessed its preparation methods in recent years, it was determined a full practice is necessary to accomplish its preparation goals for the regular season," the team said in a statement.
"The full practice will include 11-on-11 sessions that will feature live contact."
Family Night also will feature a fireworks show and a random drawing of the jerseys worn by the players. Activities in the stadium begin at 5:30 p.m..
Tickets are $10 and go on sale June 23 via Ticketmaster (phone and online) and at the Packers' ticket office at Lambeau Field. There's no limit on ticket purchases. Group ticket orders of 50 or more also are available online at http://pckrs.com/93vn or by calling 920-569-7501. Parking will be $5.
In the event of bad weather, no refunds will be issued unless all activities in the stadium from 5:30 p.m. to the end of the fireworks show are canceled.
Family Night also will be televised live on stations in Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, Wausau, La Crosse and Eau Claire.
The event benefits the Wendy's Wonderful Kids foster care adoption program, which is part of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
