For the 25th year, the United Way of Inner Wisconsin will administer a grant from the Federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program for distribution in Wood County, the agency announced Wednesday.
This year's grant, which is designed to supplement and extend existing emergency food and shelter programs in high need areas, is in the amount of $10,515, compared to $8,160 received in 2012, according to a United Way news release. The 2012 grant was used for rent, mortgage, energy and food assistance. The 2013 grant will go to local, voluntary or governmental agencies to provide emergency food and shelter assistance.
Qualifying nonprofit agencies may apply by contacting Carol Romanski at the United Way office, 351 Oak St., or by calling 715-421-0390. Application materials must be completed and submitted by Feb. 1.
