Column: Grandmother shares tale of family's snowshoe escapade

My husband Jim and I gave our kids and grandkids snowshoes as gifts for Christmas in 2011. They've been put to good use.

On the first weekend of March last year, ten of us (five adults and five grandchildren) began at the south entrance to our 130 acre tree farm. I'm not sure which of our boys, Tom, Joe, or Luke had the idea of snowshoeing through the woods to our hunting shack, spending the night, and snowshoeing out again in the morning, but the idea took off.
