Near-record temperatures today, snow and bitter cold follow

After a day of near-record high temperatures and rain today, Oshkosh residents will wake up to a winter storm Wednesday that will drop a significant amount of snow followed by a blast of arctic air later this week.

"It is unusual, we don't get this very often," said Ashley Wolf, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Green Bay. "But it does happen when we get two competing air masses. We're getting pretty much every season the next few days."
