Run the Rapids event set for April 13

The Wood County Task Force on Child Abuse is accepting registrations for the annual Run the Rapids 5K Run/Walk on April 13 in Wisconsin Rapids, in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with the run/walk starting at 10 a.m. at the Centralia Center, 220 Third Ave. S., Wisconsin Rapids.

Participants who register before March 23 will receive an event T-shirt. The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department will provide SafeAssured Child ID kits at the Centralia Center during the event.

Proceeds go toward efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect in Wood County. Call Sarah Arendt at 715-421-8600, email runtherapids@wirapids.org or go to runtherapids.wirapids.org to register or more more information.
