A 15.5-mile resurfacing project of Highway 13, from Gillette Drive to Highway E, is scheduled to begin Monday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
D.L. Gasser Construction of Baraboo is the prime contractor for the $2.9 million project, which will be paid for with a combination of federal and state transportation funds, according to a DOT news release. Crews will mill the existing pavement and place new asphalt on the roadway. Improvements also include the replacement of culvert pipes, new beam guard, permanent signs and pavement marking.
During construction, Highway 13 will remain open to traffic, according to the news release. Motorists can expect to encounter daytime single-lane closures and flagging operations. Construction is currently scheduled for completion on June 15.
