Former Packers kicker Errol Mann dies at 71

Errol Mann, who started his 12-year NFL career with the Green Bay Packers and was the Oakland Raiders' kicker when they won Super Bowl XI, has died. He was 71.

He died on April 11 at his home in Missoula, Mont.

Mann, an undrafted rookie, was promoted from the Packers' taxi squad in late October 1968 and played in two games. He kicked four extra points and missed a 37-yard field goal in a 28-17 victory at Dallas on Oct. 28, but sustained a thigh bruise. The next week, still hurting, he missed field-goal tries from 44 and 29 yards in a 13-10 loss to the Chicago Bears on Nov. 3 at Lambeau Field. ...
