The Department of Natural Resources shot and killed a bear last weekend after it destroyed a donkey on a hobby farm in the Town of Maine.

The hobby farmer called the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department on April 19. The farmer thought his peacock was killed by a bear the previous night, said Mike Young, a conservation warden. The peacock was later found alive, but the farmer's donkey was found dead in an enclosure, Young said.

"He had bear tracks in the enclosure," said Young, adding that lids were also off some of the farmer's coops. ...
