Lincoln High School officials put the Wisconsin Rapids school on lockdown for about 15 minutes Thursday while dealing with a disruptive student.

A special education student was in the cafeteria when she became upset and disruptive, Wisconsin Rapids Police Lt. Brian Krzykowski said. Authorities put the students on a "code yellow lockdown" at about 12:30 p.m. to keep students in the next lunch period from entering the cafeteria and upsetting the student more, Krzykowski said.

Parents received an email about the lockdown at about 12:35 p.m. and a second email that it had been canceled at 12:51 p.m. The lockdown was strictly precautionary, Lincoln High School Associate Principal Adam Spiegel said.
