Couple intends to paddle all 2,500 miles of the Mississippi

Janet and Greg Gottsacker know what many of their friends think of their three-year adventure kayaking the Mississippi River.

They've already paddled the first 500 of 2,500 miles and beginning Wednesday start the second leg on "Old Man River," which starts at Lake Itasca in western Minnesota and ends at the Gulf of Mexico.

"When they find out we sleep in a tent on the ground, we eat food that's not very appetizing at times, they think it doesn't sound like fun ... doesn't sound like a vacation," Janet said. "But for us it is." ...
