The cause of a fire that severely damaged a duplex in the 700 block of 11th Street North, Wisconsin Rapids, on Friday, has been classified as undetermined, Scott Whitrock, a Wisconsin Rapids firefighter and paramedic said Saturday.

The 100-year-old home at 710 11th Street N. is owned by Paul Hendren and is insured. The upper-level occupants were not at home at the time of the fire, and all residents are receiving help from the American Red Cross.

It is unknown if any of the tenants had renters' insurance. Go to www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com for video and photos of firefighters battling the fire.
