Committee denies ban on saggy pants in Green Bay

During a racially-charged meeting, the city's Protection and Welfare Committee voted unanimously Monday evening to deny a city policy that would ban saggy pants.

Ald. David Boyce had proposed for the committee to discuss how the city should handle those wearing low-riding pants and exposed underwear, which he called offensive to older people. At one point while a black man spoke out against any new policy, Boyce, 64, seemed to automatically assume the man wore saggy pants and began questioning him about it.
