Fox River in Oshkosh will close to boat traffic today

Boat traffic will be shut down between the Fox River and Lake Winnebago next week while Canadian National Railway completes construction of a new railroad bridge near the mouth of the river in Oshkosh.

Beginning at midnight Sunday, the railroad will begin placing the central span of the new bridge, which will be floated into place on large barges. Once the section is placed, crews will then turn to removing the center section of the existing bridge by barge.
