Evil is loose in the world. We felt its cold chill two weeks ago as we stared at the grainy video images of dead women and children in Syria. Could this really be happening? Who would do such a thing?

We have been duped before into going to war. By Democrats with naval attacks in the Gulf of Tonkin and by Republicans with weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. But whether these chemical weapon attacks on innocent civilians were from the embattled regime of President Bashar Assad or rebel forces desperate enough to gas their own people to lure the U.S. into their fight, evil it remains.
