Our thoroughly enjoyable mild and moderate North Woods fall weather disappeared as quickly as the peak leaf colors. Currently, this week's forecast includes only a couple days without chances of snow. Fall is always too short, but this year it seemed particularly brief!

Jim at Hayward Bait says some shallower lakes may have turned over, the larger, deeper lakes are very close, and once that happens, the bite may soften for a short period.
