The South Wood County YMCA will hold a family-friendly Halloween event on Friday, the agency recently announced.

Halloween at the Y is designed for families with children younger than 10 and will feature games and activities, as well as a costume contest, according to a YMCA news release. The event, which is free with a donation of a nonperishable food item, is set from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the organization's Port Edwards branch, 211 Wisconsin River Drive.

The first 50 children will get a YMCA tote bag for trick-or-treating, according to the news release.
