Fishing organization helps Manitowoc pantry prepare salmon

A simple act can go a long way. For Woody Shulander, manager of Peter's Pantry, a simple act means helping needy families in Manitowoc.

Shulander and members of the Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishermen cleaned chinook salmon on Tuesday, which will be stored at the pantry.

When the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources started donating salmon to the pantry two years ago, the fish were sold whole, which wasn't Shulander's ideal way to give away fish. ...
