Each spring the Oshkosh fisheries management crew conducts electro-fishing surveys in known walleye spawning areas on the upper Fox and Wolf Rivers to collect important biological data that are used to effectively manage the world-renowned walleye population and fishery. The length of the assessment is weather dependent, but assessments typically get underway shortly after ice out and last 7- to 14-days.
