Packers RB Lacy named AP offensive rookie of the year

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy was named the Associated Press NFL offensive rookie of the year on Saturday night during the NFL Honors ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall.

In receiving 35 of a possible 50 votes, Lacy becomes the first Packers player to win the award since John Brockington in 1971 after plowing through Brockington's previous franchise record for rushing yards by a rookie back (1,178 yards), which also led all NFL rookies.
