On silent wings, an impressive squadron of three dozen American white pelicans soared through the spring sky, each bird rising and falling in perfect unison as the wide wedge of birds swept over the open water.

In breathtaking flight, the entire flock swept right, the striking black and white pattern of their wings and impressive orange glow of their foot-long bills, gleaming in the morning sun.
