Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band — including Colin Hay — playing Milwaukee Sept. 8
Ringo Starr — make that Sir Richard Starkey — is returning to Milwaukee with his All Starr Band, for a show at the BMO Harris Pavilion on the Summerfest grounds Sept. 8.
The 77-year-old Starr was knighted by Prince William last month for his "services to music." He had been knighted in 1965 as the drummer for the Beatles.
Starr's Milwaukee show comes nearly a year after the release of his latest album, "Give More Love," featuring appearances by Peter Frampton, ELO's Jeff Lynne, Starr's former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney and others.
New additions to his All Starr Band since the group's 2015 Riverside Theater appearance include Colin Hay, the former lead vocalist for Men at Work; and Graham Gouldman of 10cc. They replace Todd Rundgren and Mr. Mister's Richard Page.
Returning band members from the 2015 show include Toto singer and guitarist Steve Lukather; Santana and Journey co-founder Gregg Rolie; veteran touring and session saxophonist Warren Ham (Cher, Frankie Valli); and session drummer Gregg Bissonette (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani).
Tickets for the Milwaukee show, priced between $55 and $125, are available beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the Summerfest box office (200 N. Harbor Dr.); by calling (800) 745-3000 or (866) 448-7849; or visiting ticketmaster.com. Prices have yet to be announced.
Starr's forthcoming show is the fourth stand-alone concert announced for the Summerfest grounds after the Big Gig ends July 8.
Cake and Ben Folds will co-headline the pavilion Aug. 23, and Leon Bridges will be there Sept. 23.
Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker will co-headline the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Sept. 1, during the Harley-Davidson 115th anniversary weekend.
