GREEN BAY - Green Bay Packers shareholders will gather at Lambeau Field on July 21 for their annual meeting.
The shareholders meeting will be at 11 a.m. July 21 in the Lambeau Field bowl, rain or shine. Rain has not been an issue during the 20 or so years the Packers have met in the bowl. That is one week earlier than usual because the Packers play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game on Aug. 7 in Canton, Ohio. Training camp traditionally begins by the weekend after the annual meeting, but the team has not announced a specific starting date.
Up to four tickets will be issued for each shareholder account. Proxy materials and information on tickets will be mailed in mid-June. The Packers said any shareholder who has not received communications from the team in the past 12 months should contact Shareholders Services at (855) 846-7225 or email@example.com.
The team sometimes offers special attractions for shareholders, such as a tour of the locker room or of the South End Zone. None were announced for this meeting, though the Packers Hall of Fame was not open for last year's meeting and will be new to many attendees. Last year's attendance was just short of 12,000. The record annual meeting attendance is 18,707, set in 1998. The Packers have 363,948 shareholders around the world.
The meeting will include remarks by President and CEO Mark Murphy and general manager Ted Thompson, as well as reports by directors heading various committees. Thompson's talk on the football aspects of the organization is the most anticipated portion of the meeting, though Thompson is Sphinx-like when it comes to conveying insights.
Shareholders can register to receive proxy materials electronically by going to www.packersowner.com. Shareholders who receive information electronically can print their meeting tickets at home.
