Packers, U.S. Bank discuss new site
ASHWAUBENON - U.S. Bank and the Green Bay Packers are discussing a new location for the bank branch in the Titletown District.
The site under discussion is the former River City Realtors property at Argonne Street and Lombardi Avenue, one-half mile west of the current location and across the street from Cabela's. The Packers bought the 2.4-acre property in 2012 and razed buildings there over the summer.
Packers' General Counsel Ed Policy said a site agreement has not been concluded, but U.S. Bank expressed a desire to remain in the area.
"I think it's a terrific site for them," he said. "It's right off Interstate 41 and close to our development. I think it would make it much easier for their customers."

U.S. Bank's building at 1161 Lombardi Access Road is the lone remaining business on 35 acres west of Lambeau Field that the Packers own and are redeveloping. The Titletown District will be a commercial, residential and recreational development. Two of its three announced anchors, Lodge Kohler hotel and Hinterland Brewery, are under construction and expected to open by the start of the 2017 NFL football season. The third anchor, a Bellin Health sports medicine clinic, has not begun construction.
Policy said the Packers envision two tenants on the former River City property. U.S. Bank would be the first if an agreement is reached.
The bank's current site is in a part of the Titletown District that would be considered Phase 2 of the development. Phase 1 is not fully under construction, so immediate relocation is not essential, but a move would be made as soon as practicably possible, Policy said.
Policy said U.S. Bank has a number of years remaining on its lease. The Packers bought the property in 2007.
The Packers also own the land on which Cabela's is located.
River City Realtors moved to the Quarry Vista Professional Center, 2170 Velp Ave., Howard, in April.
