Deadline approaches for Packers Give Back Award

GREEN BAY - The deadline for Green Bay Packers Give Back Award nominations is Sept. 23.

The awards recognize outstanding volunteers in the state and provide $2,000 to the recipients' respective charities.

Applications are available at packers.com/giveback.

The award, previously known as the Community Quarterback Award, is available to volunteers who are not compensated for their services and who have been with their organization for one year or longer. Categories include volunteer leadership, such as board president or board member; youth, younger than 18 years; adult, ages 18 to 65; and senior, ages 65 or older. Ten awards will be given.

The program is funded by the Packers and the NFL Foundation and since 2000 has provided $385,000 to volunteers.
