GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers and Sargento Cheese donated $17,000 to Paul's Pantry on Tuesday through their Touchdowns for Charity program.

The program is in its 14th year. Sargento pays $1,500 for each of the touchdowns scored during the season, with $1,000 going to Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and $500 to Paul's Pantry in Green Bay. Also, Sargento collected a record $1,270 and 1,507 pounds of nonperishable food during the Indianapolis Colts game Nov. 6 at Lambeau Field.

A final total for 2016 will be announced in January.

Last year, the program donated $93,000 to the two organizations.

Sargento, a family-owned business based in Plymouth, has donated more than $1.1 million to food pantries over the course of the program.

Paul's Pantry is at 1529 Leo Frigo Way, Green Bay.
