'Women are allowed to feel sexy': Aly Raisman writes emotional note to end victim-shaming
One week after confirming that she was sexually abused by USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, gold medal-winning Olympian Aly Raisman tweeted a note of support for women everywhere.
"Women are allowed to feel sexy or comfortable in their own skin, in fact I encourage you all to wear what you feel good in," Raisman wrote in a note attached to a tweet sent Friday.
Raisman tweeted, "We are all in this together. If we are going to create change I need all your help."
The note urges people to stop victim-shaming women who wear sexy outfits. She also says what a woman wears "does not give a man the right to sexually abuse her ever."
The three-time gold-medalist confirmed the abuse by Nassar on a "60 Minutes" interview that aired Nov. 12.
