PINSON, Ala. – Authorities say a former Green Bay Packers player has been found shot to death in his home in Alabama.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says former Packers defensive lineman Carlos Gray was found shortly before 10 p.m. Monday near Birmingham, Alabama. The 25-year-old is a native of Pinson, Alabama.

Gray, a defensive tackle, was signed by the Packers in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from at North Carolina State University. He was released after training camp when the team made final cuts to reduce its roster to 53 players, a team spokesman said Tuesday. He was not re-signed.

Al.com reports Jefferson County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Randy Christian said Gray's girlfriend reported she last saw him about an hour earlier when she left the home. When she returned she discovered his body.

When deputies arrived on scene, they checked the home for additional victims or suspects. While searching the house deputies reported seeing marijuana, digital scales, a Glock handgun with an extended magazine and an AK-47 rifle with a large capacity magazine all in plain view.
