GREEN BAY –  The Green Bay Packers have an 12-3 record and lead the NFC North Division. With one of their final regular-season game in Chicago, first seed in the NFC playoffs is possible.

The coronavirus pandemic has made this a most unusual year. As it now stands, the Packers will play in front of fans only three times, against Tampa Bay, Houston and Indianapolis. Whether fans will be allowed into Lambeau Field before year's end remains an open question, but it seems unlikely given northeastern Wisconsin's inability to bring the pandemic under control.

Under coach Matt LaFleur, the Packers are 26-7, including last year's playoff games.

Green Bay Packers' Jamaal Williams (30) breaks away from Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson (50) in the first half during their football game Sunday, September 13, 2020, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.

  • First of 121 games, Oct. 22, 1961.
  • Packers lead series 63-55-3.
  • This year: Packers 43, Vikings 34 on Sept. 13 in Minnesota; and Vikings 28, Packers 22 on Nov. 1 in Green Bay.

Notable games: The Packers welcomed the Vikings to the NFL with a 33-7 drubbing in 1961 and the teams and their fans have hated one another since.

Of course, there is no forgetting 2009, when Brett Favre played quarterback for the Vikings, throwing seven touchdowns and no interceptions against the Packers and defeating them twice; or Oct. 15, 2017, when Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr broke Aaron Rodgers' collarbone, ending the Packers' playoff hopes after a 4-1 start.

The 2020 season opener w the first time in the 60-year history of the Vikings that the Packers started the season in Minnesota.

Green Bay Packers' Josh Jackson breaks up a pass intended for Detroit Lions' Ty Johnson during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, in Green Bay, Wis.

  • First of 183 games, Nov. 2, 1930, when the Lions were the Portsmouth Spartans.
  • Packerslead series 104-72-7.
  • This year: Packers 42, Lions 21 on Sept. 20 in Green Bay; Packers 31, Lions 24 on Dec. 13 in Detroit.

Notable games: Aaron Rodgers' 61-yard Hail Mary pass to Richard Rodgers on Dec. 3, 2015. It was the last play of the game, giving the Packers a 27-23 victory, and it was the longest Hail Mary in NFL history, a landmark play in the careers of both guys named Rodgers.

Don Hutson scored a team-record 29 points in one quarter on Oct. 7, 1945, during a 57-21 Packers victory.

On Jan. 1, 2012, Matt Flynn passed for a record 480 yards and a team-record six touchdowns to lead the Packers to a 45-41 victory.

Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith (55) recovers a fumble in the second half of an NFL football game against the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans, Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020.

  • First of 26 games on Nov. 17, 1968.
  • Packers lead series 17-9-0.
  • This year: Packers 37, Saints 30 on Sept. 27 in New Orleans.

Notable games: Before Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, there was Don Majkowski, who, when he was on, was as good as any quarterback. One of those games was Sept. 17,1989, at Lambeau Field. The Packers trailed 24-7 at the half and Majkowski, who threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns, led a second-half comeback for a 35-34 victory. A 23-yard pass to Jeff Query on fourth-and-17 with a minute-and-a-half left was a key play.

  • First of 35 games on Oct. 23, 1966.
  • Packers lead series 19-16-0.
  • This year: Packers 30, Falcons 16 on Oct. 5 in Green Bay.

Notable games: The Packers and Falcons have split four playoff games since 1995, the most recent being the NFC championship on Jan. 22, 2017, in Atlanta, where the Packers lost 44-21. That was the second of three consecutive Packers losses on Atlanta's fast field. But when the Falcons came to Green Bay on Dec. 9, 2018, their speed didn't avail them much; they lost 34-20 to a mediocre Packers team.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (33) scores on a 1-yard touchdown run against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the first half of an NFL football game Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, in Tampa, Fla.

  • First of 57 games on Oct. 23, 1977.
  • Packers lead series 33-23-1.
  •  This year: Buccaneers 38, Packers 10 on Oct. 18 at Tampa; Buccaneers 31, Packers 26, NFC championship, Lambeau Field.

Notable games: Dec. 1, 1985, wasn't the Ice Bowl, but in some ways it was worse. A raging blizzard that dumped 10.5 inches of snow on Green Bay made that day's Packers-Buccaneers game miserable, and Lambeau Field was less than half full because fans couldn't get to the field. But the so-called Snow Bowl game barely slowed down quarterback Lynn Dickey, who threw for 299 yards, or Eddie Lee Ivery and Gerry Ellis, who each ran for more than 100 yards. Across the line, Steve Young, who beat the Packers only once in his career, threw for all of 53 yards in the 21-0 Packers victory. "Needless to say, that's the most snow I've ever seen in my life," said Dickey, which is saying something considering he grew up in Kansas.

It was notable whenever Brett Favre and Warren Sapp were on the field together. Sapp sacked Favre 11 times, more than any other quarterback he faced, but also invited him to his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony. They trash-talked their way through their respective careers and became friends afterward.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks to pass during the first half of an NFL football game against the Houston Texans Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, in Houston.

  • First of five games was played Nov. 21, 2004.
  • Packers lead series 4-1-0.
  •   This year: Packers 35, Texans 20 on Oct. 25 at Houston

Notable games: Aaron Rodgers tied Matt Flynn's record six touchdown passes on Oct. 14, 2012, in a 42-24 Packers victory.

In 2019, the teams held joint practices in training camp before the first preseason game, which was Matt LaFleur's first as Packers coach. LaFleur had an unprecedented 13-3 first season and took the Packers to the NFC championship game, which they lost to San Francisco.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (33) runs against the San Francisco 49ers during the first half of an NFL football game in Santa Clara, Calif., Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020.

  • First of 70 games on Nov. 26, 1950.
  • Packers lead series 37-32-1.
  • Last time they played: 49ers beat the Packers 37-20 in the NFC championship in San Francisco, after beating Green Bay 37-8 earlier in the year.
  • This year: Packers 34, 49ers 17, on Nov. 5 at San Francisco

Notable games: The Packers and 49ers met in playoff games five times from 1996 to 2003, with Green Bay winning four of them. A playoff win on Jan. 3, 1999, was the only time Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young defeated the Packers during his time with either Tampa Bay or San Francisco. The Packers were 13-1 against San Francisco from 1996 to 2010. Colin Kaepernick, on the other hand, beat the Packers three times in four games.

Jacksonville Jaguars' Sidney Jones stops Green Bay Packers' Tyler Ervin during the first half of an NFL football game Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, in Green Bay, Wis.

  • First of seven games was Sept. 24, 1995.
  • Packers lead series 5-2-0.
  • Last time they played: Packers won 27-23 in September 2016 in Jacksonville.
  • This year: Packers 24, Jaguars 20, on Nov. 15 at Lambeau Field.

Notable games: A game that hasn't been played. The Jaguars have played seven international series games, more than any team, while the Packers are the only NFL team yet to play a regular-season game in another country.

Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore (23) evades Green Bay Packers inside linebackers Blake Martinez (50) and Jake Ryan (47) during their Nov. 6, 2016 game at Lambeau Field.

  • First of 46 games was Nov. 5, 1950, when they were the Baltimore Colts.
  • Colts lead series 24-21-1.
  • Last time they played: Colts won 31-26 in November 2016 at Lambeau Field.
  • This year: Colts 34, Packers 31, on Nov. 23 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Notable games: Packers defeated the Colts 13-10 in overtime on Dec. 26, 1965, at Lambeau Field in the Western Conference playoff game. It was the third time that season the Packers defeated the Colts and the game in which Baltimore was forced to use halfback Tom Matte as quarterback because Johnny Unitas and Gary Cuozzo were injured.

Pro Football Hall of Fame halfback Paul Hornung was especially hard on the Colts. On Oct. 8, 1961, Hornung scored a team-record 33 points in a 45-7 Packers victory, and on Dec. 12, 1965, he scored a team-record five touchdowns in a 42-27 win.

Packers running back Aaron Jones rushes for a touchdown in the third quarter over Bears defensive back Kevin Toliver on Dec. 15, 2019, at Lambeau Field.

  • First of 201 games, Nov. 27, 1921.
  • Packers lead series 100-95-6.
  • Last year: Packers won 10-3 and 21-13.
  • This year: Packers 41, Bears 25 on Nov. 29 at Lambeau Field.

Notable games: There are a lot, but last year's season opener, when Aaron Rodgers led a 24-point second-half comeback for a 24-23 Packers victory, ranks among the best.

Like Brett Favre, Rodgers has had some of his best games against the Bears, including on Nov. 9, 2014, when he tied his own and Matt Flynn's record of six touchdown passes in a 55-14 Packers romp.

The Packers defeated the Bears 10-3 on Sept. 5, 2019. It was an ugly game by all accounts, but provided new coach Matt LaFleur a victory in his first game after replacing Mike McCarthy. For what it's worth, Vince Lombardi's first game was a 9-6 win over the Bears.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) hands off to Aaron Jones (33) against the Eagles on Sept. 26, 2019, at Lambeau Field.

  • First of 45 games on Oct. 29, 1933.
  • Packers lead series 28-17-0.
  • Last time they played: Eagles won 34-27 in September 2019 at Lambeau Field. It was one of only three regular-season losses for the 13-3 Packers.
  • This year: Packers 30, Eagles 16 on Dec. 6 at Lambeau Field.

Notable games: The Packers lost the NFC championship game to the Eagles on the day after Christmas in 1960. Vince Lombardi vowed it would be the last time the Packers lost a championship game under his watch. It was.

The NFC divisional playoff game on Jan. 11, 2004. Packers were winning 17-14 with 1:12 left. The Eagles had fourth-and-26 with no timeouts. The Eagles got the first down, tied the game and won in overtime. Fourth-and-26 haunts Packers fans to this day.

It doesn't quite balance the other two, but future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in the Packers 30-16 victory in 2020, making him the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for 35 or more touchdown passes in five seasons. He also threw his 400th touchdown pass in the game. He is the seventh NFL quarterback to reach 400, and did it faster than anyone else, taking 193 games. Drew Brees is second at 205 games.

Members of the Packers defense celebrate as Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (22) is unable to score as time expires in the fourth quarter of a 24-16 win over the Panthers on Nov. 10, 2019, at Lambeau Field.

  • First of 17 games on Jan. 1, 1997.
  • Packerslead series 11-6-0.
  • Last time they played: The Packers won 24-16 in November 2019 at Lambeau Field.
  • This year:  Packers 24, Panthers 16 on Dec. 19 at Lambeau Field.

Notable game: Their first meeting, in the NFC championship game, which the Packers won 30-13. The Panthers' head coach was none other than Dom Capers, the Packers defensive coordinator when they won Super Bowl XLV in 2011 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and who now is working with the Minnesota Vikings.

Packers kicker Mason Crosby (2) attempts an onside kick against the Titans during the second half of a 47-25 loss on Nov. 13, 2016, at Nissan Stadium.

  • First of 13 games was Nov. 19, 1972, as the Houston Oilers.
  • Titans lead series 7-6-0.
  • Last time they played: Titans won 47-25 in November 2016 in Nashville.
  • This year: Packers 40, Titans 14 on Dec. 27 at Lambeau Field.

Notable games: The Packers probably don't play the Titans in preseason as often as it seems, but Aug. 28, 2003, was one for the books. The game was delayed at 2:05 in the second quarter for more than two hours because of torrential rain and lightning. NFL officials halted the game at 8:28 p.m. and allowed it to resume at 11:01 p.m. It was the fifth preseason game of the season, conditions were miserable and for some reason the NFL insisted on finishing a game no one cared about. The final score was ... really, who cares?
