Emergency fund contributors can win a virtual hangout with Packers' Kenny Clark
GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark will host a virtual get-together next month with a contributor to United Way's emergency fund for COVID-19 relief.
Donations beginning at $10 made to United Way before May 31 at unitedway.org/hangout will make the contributor eligible for the random drawing. The winner gets a 30-minute video conference with Clark that will feature a Q&A, video gaming or a workout session sometime in early June, depending on the availability of Clark and the winner, said Tom Schoffelman of Brown County United Way.
The money will go to Brown County United Way's Emergency Response Fund, which to date raised nearly $290,000 and granted more than $180,000 to local non-profit organizations.
Twenty-one current and former players have teamed with United Way across the country for the nationwide United Way fundraising effort.
"There's a lot to be done still," Clark said in a press release. "I care about this community and people need to help right now."
Clark and Brown County United Way previously worked together when Clark was part of the Character Playbook program, a joint NFL/United Way effort to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to build and maintain healthy relationships.
Clark was the Packers' nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2018. The award recognizes players for their excellence on and off the field.
